From the opening words of the Book of Acts, Luke underscores that the risen Christ is still at work fulfilling his mission in the world. Jesus did not turn his mission over to his disciples and slip off the scene with a cloud-covered exit. He is expanding his reign in and through his followers by the power of his Spirit.
